Stop & smell the nature!” What strikes you when you see this phrase? Yes, it helps to serve as a gentle reminder to slow down, relax & experience the beauty of nature. A steady stream of interesting people, young & adults, find their way to FRIM Kepong last Sunday (14 June 2009). It must be the call to the wild, the need to reconnect with nature and a desire to seek peace outside of the money driven city.

Most of these people came not only to get a dash of the wild but also to connect with Sen Sen “森森” ~ our little mascot which advocates spreading the awareness of protecting the environment to the next generation.

16 families led by the volunteers from NESH & “Persatuan Meditasi Prajna KL dan Selangor” went for the Nature Photography outing at FRIM Kepong. 4 different themes were chosen namely Insects, Fungus, Leaves & Plants for the participants to let their creativity ran wild by capturing different images based on the themes chosen.

All families returned satisfied with their image captures. A sharing session had been organized in the auditorium for all the participants to present their masterpiece.

Not forgetting the young ones, fun-filled activities such as River Adventure, Tie & Dye by using natural dying substances & Creative Drawing by using colours from the soil. It was a one-of-its-kind experiential activity-based outing where kids truly enjoyed. Moved by the call? Do register yourself & receive our E-newsletter for more future updates.

Millions all over the world will switch off their lights for Earth Hour at 8.30pm on March 28 in support of action on climate change. In shot, it’s a call to stand up, to take responsibility and to get involved in working towards a sustainable future.

Earth Hour is an opportunity for the global community to speak in one voice on the issue of climate change, while at the same time coming together in celebration of the one thing every single person on the planet has in common – the planet.

The event began in Sydney in 2007, when some two million people switched off their lights. Last year, more than 50 million people around the globe participated. This year, Earth Hour is being taken to the higher level, with the aim to reach out to one billion people in 1000 cities.

Be part of this global petition for the second year, we at NESH, pledge to switch off the exterior lights of headquarter, non-essential lights at our concept stores at 8.30pm. So, show your support by taking action for one hour on that day.
